De acuerdo al sitio web mls-rumors.net, el volante español y actual jugador del Middlesbrough de la English Premier League, Gaizka Mendieta, 34, estaría barajando la posibilidad de fichar en la Major League Soccer.
Mendieta (ex Valencia, Barcelona y Lazio entre otros equipos) defendió en múltiples oportunidades a la selección española y en el mejor momento de su carrera, llegó a ser tasado en más de $30 millones de dólares por el Valencia español. Sin embargo, en los últimos cinco años ha jugado tan sólo 76 partidos debido a rebeldes lesiones, por lo que el Middlesbrough no pondría mayores dificultades en dejarlo partir.
El sitio agrega además que el Toronto FC sería el destino de Mendieta en la Major League Soccer.

The Boca / River rivalry is a good one, perhaps only rivaled by the Old Firm.
regarding Guillermo Barros Schelotto:
I wish that he was more visible througout the league. I think he is a top player. He is definitely in the same league as Blanco, Beckham, and Gallardo, the other recent big name imports into MLS. I don't understand why they all seem to be getting MUCH more attention. Maybe its because he plays for the Crew. That must be it.

You are right. Guillermo should get as much attention as some of the other players are. I mean, his team is on first place and he is constantly playing good. I don't know what the deal is.
